Instructions Instructions: ********************************** 10-05 this was sinful, excellent good makeahead dessert but note long cooking and cooling times i could not find frozen cherries used canned we served this with coffee ice cream ****************************************** 1/3 c softened butter 12 oz black rye bread sliced 1/2 " thick 1 12-16 oz pkg frozen pitted dark sweet cherrys 1 12 oz pkg semisweet chocolate 1/2 t ground cinnamon 3 1/4 c whipping cream 3/4 c sugar 8 eggs 1/2 t almond extract whipped cream optional sliced almonds toasted optional butter 3 qt baking dish spread remiaining butter on breqd slices place slices in dish overlapping as necessary sprinkle with frozen cherries, 1/2 the chocolate pieces and the cinnamon set aside in medium saucepan combine remaining chocolate pieces, 1 c cream and sugar heat and stir until chocolate is melted gradually stir in remaining cream beat eggs in large bowl, stir in chocolate mixture and the almond extract slowly pour over bread in dish cover and chill 2 hours or overnight preheat oven to 325 uncover pudding and place on foil lined abking sheet bake 70 to 80 minutes until 160 in middle cool for 45 minutes serve warm with whipped cream or almonds Notes: ********** RECIPE ENDS ******** This recipe published with BigOven, and can be imported instantly by BigOven users.
