I came across an envelope of hand-written recipes that my husband’s mom had passed along to him many moons ago when he moved out on his own. It was interesting to go through them and find new recipes that I knew that he had liked at one time or another.

The first recipe I decided to make was this one! I also made an additional casserole and sent it to a friend that had just had a baby. I immediately got a text message telling me how much they enjoyed it. In addition, or toddler son inhaled this like it was his last supper! I was so excited about that because he is a bit of a purest when it comes to food (he doesn’t like mixed casseroles usually). He liked this!

So I highly suggest it as a family-friendly meal! And if your family usually orders a pizza with lots of additional toppings, feel free to add those to the mix.

Ingredients:

* 1 pound ground beef
* 16 oz pizza sauce
* 1 Tablespoon Oregano
* 1 teaspoon garlic salt
* 2 cups pasta, cooked and drained
* .67 cups milk
* 3 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded (1 cup set aside)

Directions:

While preparing the sauce, boil the pasta noodles. Brown the ground beef. When noodles are finished cooking, drain and return to pot. Together in the pot mix all ingredients, stirring thoroughly. Add to a deep dish 8×8 pan, top with remaining cheese. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 3o minutes.
Freezing Directions:

Prepare up to the point of baking, do not bake. Instead, cover and freeze. To serve: Thaw. Bake covered at 350 degrees for 3o minutes. (Or bake double the time if frozen.)
